Yes, in service of our Lord we certainly are enlisted.
Yet, our people can join many a service club for all sorts of reasons and be well grounded in the fellowship and service such clubs can give to the broader community.
To come and kneel/stand/sit before the throne Sunday after Sunday, to approach that throne and receive the blessed food that is our Lord will be but 'a way' on the way--a way for strengthening grace for the journey we are on.
What will this wonderful church of ours look like in a few short years? It is a time of challenge and change--and while there have to be some liturgical changes, let us not throw out the baby with the bathwater. It is theater at its best this fine liturgy of ours, yet it is not simply a 'me me theater' by any stretch of the imagination.
Blessings on the way.
Your colleague, Canon Greg P. (I don't expect you to print these words on your blog). let it be known that one comment came through anyway.Canon Gregnoreply@blogger.com
